Flight Instructor Certification Course

Our Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Course is design to take your Commercial Pilot Certificate to the income producing level.  We first will transition you into the right seat of the training airplane and then start having you explain the maneuvers as you fly and demonstrate them.  The flying is the easy part of the CFI, and the challenge is learning to behave as an instructor rather than a pilot.  To do this you must be able to present the subject with authority and be able to back up every statement you make with regulation or other official documented source.

You will learn to make and present lessons based on a lesson plan that you have prepared and be able to answer questions from the FAA Inspector about the plan.  For example, you are teaching a lesson on the standard traffic pattern, and the inspector asks "Where and how long in the final approach?"  Your task is to know the answer and prove it with regulations.

There are two knowledge exams as well, one relates to the "Fundamentals of Instruction" and the other on the regulations, airplane performance, weather, etc.  This one is very similar to the Commercial Knowledge exam you have recently passed.

The flight portion is straight forward, and you will be asked to demonstrate several of the lessons that you have already briefed the Inspector.

Now all you need to do is find a flight school that is willing to hire you and you are employed.  By the way, when you graduate from our CFI program we will hire you.  Your pay will start at $20.00 per flight hour, and we will help you to find students and get you further toward your eventual goal, whether it be airlines, or as a full time CFI.

Welcome aboard!
